The emotional transformation took the artist just two hours, but made a world of difference to her client.

When brow artist Linnie Phan revealed her client’s new brows, the client began to cry.

“I’m gonna reveal them, OK? Ready?” Phan asks her client in a viral Instagram video. She then swipes away the foam above the woman’s eyes, revealing an expertly executed set of realistic-looking eyebrows.

Upon seeing her reflection in the mirror, her client said just one word: “Wow.”

“What do you think?” Phan asked.

“It’s so good. Wait, I wanna cry,” the client said, before tears fell down the corners of her eyes.

Before

The client arrived at Linnie Phan's studio with barely-there brows.

Phan’s client came to her beauty studio, Linnie Phan Beauty Studio & Academy in Stanton, California, with barely-there brows.

She previously had her brows microbladed by another artist, but felt compelled to undergo laser tattoo removal on the results just a year later.

Two hours after entering the studio, the woman’s brows were transformed from nearly invisible to a set of striking, symmetrical, natural-toned brows.

The results were realistic, with ultra-thin hair-like strokes at the front and more defined, tapered curves at the ends.

“The client booked Shadowed Strokes, which is my signature brow technique,” Phan told The Looker.

“It combines machine hair strokes with soft shading to create natural-looking brows with more fullness and structure while still healing very soft.”

Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure that uses super-thin needles to apply tattoo pigment in ultra-fine strokes, mimicking the appearance of real brow hairs. Due to the nature of the lines, the results typically last one to three years, though they can be extended with regular touch-ups.

After

After two hours, the results were natural and symmetrical.

The service includes an in-depth consultation with Phan, brow mapping to determine the perfect placement for each client’s individual anatomy and needs, and the procedure itself. In all, the price comes out to $1,500, according to her website.

The client said she loved the results, calling them “magic,” while Phan wiped her tears.

“Her reaction was emotional because brows play a huge role in how someone sees themselves,” Phan told The Looker.

“For her, this wasn’t just about appearance; it was about confidence. She had been unhappy with her brows for a long time, and seeing herself in the mirror with brows that finally suited her face brought up a lot of emotion.”

The results caused the client to cry.

Perhaps for this reason, Phan, who also offers permanent eyeliner and lip blush, as well as mentorship for aspiring brow artists, said her client’s reaction was not out of the ordinary.

“Moments like that are very common in my work and are honestly why I love what I do,” she said.

The video gained over 2.8 million views, and hundreds of commenters loved the results.

“Oh my god, this is incredible,” one person wrote, while another one added, “I’d cry too, they’re gorgeous.”

A third one wrote, “Amazing job, you changed her life forever.”

In the comments, Phan explained that she preferred this dual technique for the client over single strokes.

“She doesn’t have too much hair, and the shading will hold the shape better than just full strokes,” she wrote.

Adding, “The brows will lighten and soften 50 percent after healing and will appear more natural.”
