At least five people have been killed after an Amazon cargo plane overshot the runway while landing at Miami International Airport and struck multiple vehicles nearby on Sunday afternoon. Five others were injured when the Boeing 767-300 hit the vehicles, caught on fire, and came to a rest tipped forward onto its nose. Video of the incident showed the plane attempting to land on a diagonal runway, hitting the ground, failing to stop at the end of a runway and crossing Miami’s NW 67th Avenue before stopping in a parking lot, according to the Washington Post. The plane was flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Ray Jadallah said the plane swiped several vehicles, trapping people inside, including one who had to be extricated by specialized technical rescue personnel. “What we found was a very complex situation,” Jadallah said, adding that three of the five injured are in critical condition. In a statement posted on X, Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel said the plane, operated by 21 Air, was attempting to land when the incident occurred. “We’re heartbroken to learn that five people lost their lives in today’s incident at Miami International Airport. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families, loved ones, and all those affected by this devastating loss,” Nantel said, adding that Amazon will cooperate fully with any investigation.” FAA confirmed in a statement that it will investigate the crash.

A heavily armed man attacked Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton at a fair in Ohio’s MAGA heartland on Sunday afternoon.

The man “lunged at Dr. Acton, injuring multiple people” while Acton, 60, was attending the Canfield Fair in northeastern Ohio, a campaign spokesperson said in a statement.

Patel, the conspiracy theorist turned FBI boss, said his agency charged five people in three states for casting ballots illegally over the past two election cycles. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were reportedly gifted T-shirts sarcastically mocking Russian President Vladimir Putin during their visit to the Ukrainian capital on Sunday.

Local media reported that the pair were given shirts featuring the phrase “Kyiv regime,” a reference to Putin using that label in negotiations held in Moscow a day earlier to push his false narrative of Ukraine being run by fascists. The fourth installment in the Sony-Marvel Spider-Man collaboration is doing so well at the box office that it has surpassed Marvel’s superhero behemoth Avengers: Endgame in domestic box office earnings, and could potentially do the same globally. Spider-Man: Brand New Day just spent its sixth consecutive weekend at number one domestically, raking in $18 million over the traditional weekend, and expecting to take a total of $23 million including Labor Day. It’s the longest number-one streak since 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, which topped the box office for seven weekends straight. Domestically, that brings the Tom Holland-helmed film to $923 million in receipts, just behind the number one grossing film domestically of all time, Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million). Globally, Brand New Day has made $2.4 billion, making it the third-highest-grossing film of all time. Only Avatar ($2.9 billion) and Marvel stablemate Endgame ($2.7 billion) are ahead of it.

Barbara Eden, 95, was forced to drop out of an appearance at the Cinecon Classic Film Festival on Saturday due to a “sudden illness.” The titular heroine of the camp 1960s fantasy comedy I Dream of Jeannie, Eden was scheduled to be honored with the Cinecon Legacy Award at a screening the 1961 classic All Hands on Deck, in which she also starred. In an announcement posted to the festival’s Facebook page, organizers said Eden was “deeply regretful that she had to cancel at the last minute, as she had been very much looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating with us.” The festival organizers said Eden’s co-star Pat Boone would accept the award in her place. Eden has appeared in dozens of movies, TV shows and stage productions over her career. She also penned a best-selling memoir that was published in 2011. Eden turned 95 in August. The Republican National Convention speaker list is causing controversy for one name on it: Attorney General Todd Blanche.

Blanche appears prominently on a leaked line-up published by Axios, raising questions about whether the nation’s top law enforcement official is violating federal restrictions on partisan political activity.

As attorney general, appearing at a partisan event that is being billed by the Republican National Committee as “Trump-a-palooza” is a potential violation of the Hatch Act of 1939, which says that federal executive branch employees are prohibited from using their job to influence elections.

President Donald Trump’s bid to restrict mail-in voting has been hit by a reality check as election officials say there’s just not enough time to fulfill his demands.

A federal judge has blocked Trump’s plot for now, as the U.S. Postal Service has been temporarily barred from enacting rules that would allow the Trump administration to decide which voters are allowed to cast mail-in ballots in November’s midterm elections.

Trump, a vocal critic of mail-in voting despite frequently using the method to vote himself, has been trying to get the USPS to regulate and approve the design of states’ ballot envelopes and regulate a federal database of absentee voters.

MAGA Rep. Zach Nunn went on an all-expenses-paid European tour as everyday Iowans suffered during a government shutdown, the Daily Beast has learned.

Nunn, who has been broadly supportive of President Donald Trump’s war in Iran and who the 80-year-old called “100 percent MAGA,” spent a week touring castles, sites connected to the British Royals, and soaking in Irish culture in Dublin between March 29 and April 4.

Former Fox News host-turned-Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has called on the Air Force to fight back against a “radical” new threat: a nonprofit that asked military officials to stop bombarding service members with religious greetings.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation, whose more than 100,000 members are both active-duty military personnel and veterans, announced in a press release this week that it received dozens of complaints about religious greetings at the front gates of the Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The group said 24 of the 34 people who complained were Christians.

A trip from hell unfolded for passengers on an American Airlines flight on Thursday, with an allegedly belligerent passenger needing to be duct-taped to his seat. A picture of Arthur Lundeen, 67, of Arizona, duct-taped to his seat has gone viral after it was posted on Instagram by fellow passenger Richard Olenick and captioned: “So this was my night tonight.” Lundeen was allegedly drunk and became belligerent, yelling at a man seated next to him. When a flight attendant tried to calm down the situation, Lundeen allegedly began screaming obscenities at him. Olenick says he was sitting two rows ahead of Lundeen in first class. He says that he went to help restrain Lundeen after he began to physically assault the passenger next to him, the flight attendant, and a woman who had tried to defuse the situation. In the picture, there is blood on Lundeen’s arms, and his entire torso and face are restrained. The plane, which took off from Dallas en route to Newark, New Jersey, was forced to divert to Baltimore, where Maryland cops took Lundeen into custody.

Donald Trump’s top negotiators began their meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday by presenting him with a commemorative coin, according to the Kremlin’s press pool. The “Peace Through Strength” coin, photographed on a table at the start of negotiations, featured Steve Witkoff’s name on the back. In a brief clip released by state-controlled media, Putin, 73, was shown greeting Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner before taking a seat and asking that they give Trump his warm regards. Witkoff, who has reportedly been “scared” to travel to Kyiv against Moscow’s wishes, was also filmed gushing over the Russian leader, telling him that among all the “incredible memories” he will have once he retires, his talks with Putin “will be right at the top of it all.” The real estate investor-turned-special envoy is said to have grown enamored with Putin throughout his many meetings in Moscow, even having Putin sign a paper for him that he later had framed, according to Regime Change by The New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. Donald Trump’s much-touted GOP midterm convention got an unexpected internet makeover this week, when a look-alike website that had been surfacing prominently in Google searches began sending visitors straight to the Justice Department’s Epstein files.

The site, gopdallas2026.com, appeared to offer information about next week’s Republican convention in Dallas, including registration, VIP experiences, and other event details. But by Friday, clicking the link sent visitors directly to the DOJ’s online Epstein library instead. The original version of the site has been taken down, but the redirect to the Epstein library remains online.

Amber Eggers of the television show Love After Lockup died Thursday night in an Atlanta hospital. She was 41. Eggers’ mother, Monica Eggers, told TMZ that she had been admitted a few days earlier and ultimately died from acute liver failure. Eggers starred in season two of the We TV show in 2019, after serving a four-year sentence for drug trafficking. She was briefly engaged, but the wedding was called off when she was released. “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Amber Eggers, an original and unforgettable member of the Love After Lockup family,” We TV told Page Six in a statement. “She was a bright light, who shared her life story with courage and authenticity, and we are honored to have been a part of her journey over several years. Fox announced Thursday that it had parted ways with the Trumpy host after more than 12 years. The company didn’t specify a reason, but subsequent reporting by Status revealed that it stemmed from Bartiromo sharing guidance from her superiors about how to cover President Donald Trump’s baseless claims about the 2020 election in a July speech—namely, to stay away from it.

Steve Witkoff, one of the Trump administration’s lead Russia-Ukraine negotiators, reportedly got “scared” about a scheduled trip to Kyiv this weekend.

A Republican running for the Missouri state House has been arrested after he tried to have cocaine planted on his opponent, prosecutors allege in a news release. Thomas Christopher Ross, 37, has been charged with a count of conspiring to distribute a controlled substance after the man he allegedly tasked with planting the drugs, his former campaign manager, called police and foiled the plot, authorities say. The alleged scheme targeted local realtor Louise Secker, a fellow Republican running for the same seat. The ex-campaign manager claims he was instructed to plant the cocaine, as well as Adderall, in Secker’s car or purse. The chairman of the Missouri Republican Party, Peter Kinder, said in a statement that Ross should drop out of the race due to these “serious and deeply troubling” charges. Ross beat Secker by less than three dozen votes last month to become the Republican candidate in the race to represent Missouri’s 161st District, which includes Joplin and surrounding areas.

A mistrial has been declared in the prosecution of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother who has admitted to strangling three of her children to death. Donald Trump’s commerce secretary made more than $250 million in income in 2025, a newly obtained ethics filing shows.

The filing, obtained by The Wall Street Journal, shows that the majority of billionaire Howard Lutnick’s 2025 income came from stepping back from many of his business operations to take on the Cabinet-level role.

Lutnick received at least $190 million in a distribution from Cantor Fitzgerald before he transferred his stake in the financial services firm to his two oldest sons, the 74-page filing said.

United Airlines passengers were only 25 minutes into their flight from Los Angeles to Newark, New Jersey, when the plane’s crew reported a technical issue and turned the plane around on Thursday. “United flight 1855 safely returned to Los Angeles to address a mechanical issue,” the airline said in a statement. “Customers deplaned normally at the gate, and we’ve arranged for a new aircraft to take them to their destination later today.” The complication was reportedly a “hydraulic maintenance issue,” but United has not disclosed the details. A Danish man has uncovered the largest collection of Viking Age silver while doing gardening work at his home. The man, from the northern Danish municipality of Rebild, made the shocking discovery while cutting grass and removing stones in preparation for building a new terrace. The Dane uncovered around 700 pieces of buried treasure, including silver bars, dozens of coins, and a small Thor’s hammer. The hoard weighed around 18.5 kilos, three times heavier than the record discovery of Viking Age silver in Denmark, according to the Nordjyske Museer [North Jutland Museums]. “It should have just been a few hours of hard gardening work removing stubborn grass, stones and gravel for a new tiled terrace, but it turned out to be the biggest surprise of my life,” said the man, who wishes to remain anonymous. Torben Sarauw, cultural heritage manager at Nordjyske Museer, said the silver was likely used as payment, and the discovery was akin to “finding a safe” from the Viking Age.

A former Justice Department official is suing the government after she was allegedly fired for refusing to restore gun rights to Trumpy actor and convicted domestic abuser Mel Gibson as a political favor to the president.

Elizabeth Oyer, a longtime government lawyer, had been working as a pardon attorney for about three years when she was assigned in early 2025 to help identify people convicted of crimes whose gun rights the DOJ should consider restoring, according to her lawsuit.

She compiled a list of about 95 people who were convicted a long time ago of nonviolent offenses and had been thoroughly investigated and vetted by the department, which concluded their risk of recidivism was low.

A bombshell report from Status revealed that Bartiromo was ousted after she disclosed an internal company message to the White House. She is believed to have offered an explanation for why the network was not covering Trump’s flop primetime address in July, which featured unsubstantiated claims that China had meddled in the 2020 election.

Fox News had told all employees to steer clear of covering Trump’s conspiracy theory-laden speech in its coverage. Status’ Oliver Darcy reported that Bartiromo had not only “effectively betrayed” her employer but had also allegedly violated the terms of her employment agreement by handing the memo over to Trump’s team.

A lawyer who once worked inside Donald Trump’s White House says the president intends to “steal” November’s midterm elections wherever he can manage it.

Ty Cobb, who served in the Trump administration from July 2017 to May 2018 and managed the White House’s internal legal team during Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation, made the prediction during a television appearance discussing an unusual midterm convention Trump has ordered to be held next week in Dallas, Texas.

The Republican National Committee, which is hosting the event, has recommended Republican candidates pay $25,000 a head to attend, and many Republican lawmakers have said they will not go.

The shocking reality of Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman’s life has been exposed in a bombshell report detailing his lack of interest in his job beyond cozying up to MAGA stars and championing Israel.

A damning profile in The Wall Street Journal also revealed an incident in which Fetterman canceled on three paralyzed military veterans in wheelchairs who had traveled to D.C. to meet with him because he wanted to be interviewed on Fox News instead.

Fetterman’s staff had to inform the veterans, after they arrived in D.C. from rural Pennsylvania in June, that the Democrat could not make their long-awaited meeting to discuss legislation to improve their care because he was not feeling well.

President Donald Trump is pushing ahead with his latest vanity project, even though it has yet to be fully approved.

Trump, 80, wants a 250-foot gilded triumphal arch erected for Memorial Circle, the roundabout leading to Arlington National Cemetery.

The monument, nicknamed the “Arch de Trump,” will rise to 250 feet, dwarfing the 99-foot Lincoln Memorial across the Potomac River. The president wants it built before his term ends in January 2029.

Donald Trump’s former labor secretary forced a member of her own security detail to drip banknotes onto a near-naked stripper, according to a damning report detailing her tumultuous tenure.

Lori Chavez-DeRemer, 58, resigned in April after an internal investigation at the Department of Labor found that she had fostered a toxic work environment and misused official resources.

Among the allegations were claims that Chavez-DeRemer had an affair with a bodyguard, drank on the job, and took her subordinates to a strip club during a work trip.
