Holly Madison, a former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, documented a transformative skincare treatment she underwent to rejuvenate the appearance of her undereye area.

“Watch me ruin my face,” Madison, 46, joked in an Instagram post on April 1. She added, “Just kidding, April fools, never ever gonna do that.”

Instead, the former model and two-time memoir author underwent a CO2 laser treatment.

The ablative procedure is growing in popularity, likely thanks to people posting their dramatic before-and-after results on social media. It can help soften the appearance of wrinkles, diminish scarring, and stimulate collagen production.

“Once I had my concealer and my powder on every day, my under-eyes were starting to look like the dry lake bed even without smiling,” she explained in the video.

Glancing through the latest photos and videos of Madison, who starred on The Girls Next Door alongside the late Playboy founder from 2005 to 2009 and is now an executive producer on Investigation Discovery’s The Playboy Murders, it’s hard to see what she’s talking about.

In social media posts, she appears as bright-eyed and fresh-faced as she did during her time in the Playboy Mansion two decades earlier.

An hour before her appointment, Madison had a topical numbing cream applied to the affected area. Then, she lay down on a brown chair for her treatment.

Immediately after the lasering, her results seemed modest. She described her under-eyes as having a “white film” over them.

By the next day, however, her transformation kicked into full effect, with the skin around her eyes bulging and her under-eyes appearing bright red.

“I was so swollen,” she recalled. “My eyes were almost swollen shut. I could only fit one contact lens in.”

Two days later, the swelling had subsided, but the red marks remained. Madison described her under-eyes as “crusty.”

“I would give yourself two days of being very swollen,” she told her followers. “If you wear contacts, get glasses for these two days.”

On the fifth day, the mother of two went out to eat with her daughter, despite calling her appearance “crazy.”

A week after the appointment, the desired outcome was beginning to show.

“The swelling is gone, and there’s just kinda like some redness afterward,” she explained.

Now, three months after the treatment, Madison was thrilled with her results.

“Look at that under-eye,” she said, zooming the camera in on her eye as she tapped her smooth skin with her finger. “I love it.”

Madison now plans to undergo the procedure annually for maintenance, and fans are sure to keep an eye on her enviable results.

Although commenters wrote her appearance was “brutal” in the first days following the treatment, they also deemed her results “gorgeous” and worth the trouble involved.
